Terms of Service

The rules of the road for using Townloops.

Last updated: 2026-07-06

Agreement

By using Townloops you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. If you're using Townloops on behalf of an organization such as a venue, business, or community group, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

What the site is

Townloops is a per-town directory covering events, venues, businesses, and community groups. It's operated by CrimsonCowLabs. Content is a mix of first-party editorial work, operator submissions, and event data ingested from public sources and partner APIs. We work to keep listings accurate but we can't guarantee any specific event will happen at the time and place listed. Always check with the venue.

Your account

Most of Townloops is readable without an account. If you have editor or admin access, you're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for anything done under your account. Tell us at [email protected] right away if you think an account has been compromised.

Submitting events and content

Anyone can submit an event via the public form. When you submit, you confirm that:

  • You have the right to publish the event, image, and description.
  • The event details are accurate to your knowledge.
  • The submission doesn't infringe anyone else's rights, isn't misleading, isn't harmful, isn't spam, and doesn't promote illegal activity.

You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant Townloops a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to display, distribute, and adapt it as part of running the site, including sharing on our social channels and in the weekly digest. We may edit, decline, or remove submissions at our discretion. Most often that's for moderation reasons or because an event fell through.

Newsletter

Signing up for the newsletter is optional and requires you to click a confirmation link in the email we send you. See the Privacy Policy for how signup data is handled. Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

API and programmatic access

Ingest API access is contract-based. If you have a Townloops API key, use of the API is also subject to the ingest agreement covering that key. Don't share keys, don't exceed the rate limits, and don't scrape the public site as a substitute for the API.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Try to break, overload, or otherwise disrupt the site.
  • Scrape at a volume that materially affects other visitors.
  • Bypass authentication, security controls, or rate limits.
  • Use the site to distribute malware, phishing, harassment, or content that violates someone's rights.

We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who does.

Our content and trademarks

Editorial writing, design elements, code, and layout are © CrimsonCowLabs unless otherwise noted. "Townloops" and the Townloops mark are trademarks of CrimsonCowLabs. Feel free to link to any Townloops page; don't republish substantial content without asking.

Third-party content

Some content on Townloops — event descriptions, images, venue details, community writeups — comes from third parties. We don't endorse it and we're not responsible for it. Report anything that shouldn't be here to [email protected].

Disclaimers

The site is provided as is. We make no warranty that event listings are complete or up to date. Always confirm with the venue before making plans. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, CrimsonCowLabs isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of Townloops. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits; in that case they apply to the extent allowed.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes update the "Last updated" date at the top. If we change anything that affects your rights, we'll surface it on the site so you have a chance to review. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
