Operators wanted
Launch Townloops
in your town.
Every Townloops town has a local operator: A chamber, a publisher, a community group, a coffee shop owner who cares. If that's you, we've already built the site. You bring the town.
Why your town?
Every town has these questions. There's no definitive answer.
"What's happening this weekend?"
Scattered across a handful of Facebook groups, a couple of venue calendars, and the town paper's Thursday print edition. There's no single place.
"Where's that new spot I heard about?"
Yelp is full of drive-throughs. Google Maps still shows a place that closed last year. The good stuff is invisible without word of mouth.
"Who's playing tonight?"
The venue posted three days ago. Instagram buried it. You'd know if you already knew.
How the business works
Six ways your town makes money.
-
Newsletter
Weekly sponsorships
One local sponsor per Thursday digest. Priced against the actual open rate.
-
Site
Homepage + category slots
Ad placements on the town homepage and each category page (Live Music, Food & Drink, Outdoors).
-
Events
Featured event placements
Promoters pay to sit at the top of the weekly roundup.
-
Directory
Premium business profiles
Upgraded listings with photos, hours, and a dedicated URL. Monthly fee.
-
Seasons
Seasonal guides
"Where to eat in July." "Winter concerts." Editorial packages built once, sold every season.
-
Partnership
Chamber & city contracts
Sell tourism calendars and business directories to your chamber or town office. Townloops runs the tech.
The pitch
We run the tech.
You run the town.
Townloops is a full local-media platform: CMS, newsletter sender, business directory, sponsor slots, SEO, analytics. You focus on the local stuff we can't do from a keyboard. Curating what's worth attention, closing sponsors and your editorial voice.
You keep the revenue and the audience. We keep the lights on and servers running.
The division of labor
What you own vs. what we handle.
You keep
- · Your subscriber list that you can export anytime.
- · Editorial control. You get to decide what runs.
- · Every dollar of sponsorship you close locally.
- · The relationships with businesses and venues in town.
- · A first-party audience. Not rented from a social platform.
We handle
- · Hosting, Monitoring, Backups & Uptime.
- · The CMS for events, venues, businesses.
- · Weekly newsletter sending. Deliverability.
- · SEO structure, JSON-LD, sitemap, page speed.
- · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA). Privacy compliance.
- · The ingest pipeline that finds events across your region.
Pricing
Three tiers. Pay monthly, or save on annual.
Every tier includes the whole platform: hosting, CMS, newsletter, directory, ingest, SEO, analytics. What changes across tiers is volume, seats, and the features your town's stage of growth actually needs. Annual saves roughly a month's fee.

When the platform's marketplace features are running (featured events, premium profiles sold through Townloops billing), a small platform fee will apply — we'll tell you before that lands, and it's zero for now.

Questions
Common ones, answered honestly.
- Do I need a technical team?
- No. If you can edit a doc and send an email, you can run a Townloops town. No code. No server admin. No HTML.
- My town has under 5,000 people. Is that too small?
- No. Small towns are often a better fit. Fewer sources to aggregate, tighter community, faster to become the go-to. The math works down to a few thousand residents.
- Who owns the content and the subscriber list?
- You do. Export any time. We're the platform. The audience relationship is yours.
- Do you take a cut of newsletter or sponsor revenue?
- Not today. When the platform's marketplace launches (featured events, premium business profiles billed through Townloops), a small platform fee will apply on those flows. Sponsors you close directly, off-platform, are 100% yours either way. We'll tell you before anything changes.
- Can I leave?
- Yes. Monthly plans cancel any time. Annual plans commit for the year but you can turn off renewal any time. Export your data on the way out.
- How long from "hello" to live?
- Usually about two weeks. Faster if your content is ready. Slower if we're helping you curate the launch batch.
- Can I see one running?
- Yes. South Lake Tahoe is the flagship. Real events. Real venues. A real newsletter.
