DESCRIPTION:The Great North Special was formed in Laguna Beach\, California
  in 2019\, forged through friendship and a collective passion for the impr
 ovisational magic of bands like The Grateful Dead. The band was birthed by
  songwriting partners\, Andrew Corradini(vocals/guitar) and Russell Long(v
 ocals/guitar)\, who began writing songs together in 2012. Their musical sy
 nergy laid the foundation for The Great North Special\, which they envisio
 ned as a platform to share their love for diverse genres\, from country-fu
 nk and soul-blues to psych-rock and jazz. The six piece ensemble has had a
  few changes of personnel over the years\, including the permanent additio
 n of drummer Derek Eglit in 2024. The band then added guitarist/vocalist J
 ohn Lovero(The Higgs) and keyboardist/vocalist Michael Russeck(Curse of th
 e Keys) as permanent fixtures at the beginning of 2025.\n\nIn 2020\, The G
 reat North Special unveiled their self-titled debut EP\, a four-track jour
 ney that showcased their musical versatility and captivating songwriting. 
 Recorded and produced at their own Freak Farm Studio\, the EP garnered att
 ention for its rich tapestry of sounds and soulful performances. As the ba
 nd refined their craft on stage\, they became a mainstay in the Southern C
 alifornia music scene\, leaving audiences spellbound with their electrifyi
 ng live shows. They have played many of California’s favorite venues and
  festivals in their last few years of traveling the state. The hallmark of
  The Great North Special's live experience is their ability to create a se
 nse of communal celebration\, where audiences become immersed in an ecstat
 ic whirlwind of music and movement. Their improvisational and adventurous 
 spirit knows no bounds\, with each performance offering a unique musical o
 dyssey filled with spontaneous moments of brilliance. \n\nIn 2022\, the b
 and released their single\, “Love Service Devotion”\, further solidify
 ing their place in the Americana and jam music scenes. However\, it is the
 ir debut LP\, "Callithump Parade\," released in the summer of 2024\, that 
 marks a significant milestone in their journey. With support from the Lagu
 na Beach Arts Commission\, the band ventured into uncharted territory\, cr
 afting a 10-song vinyl masterpiece that encapsulates the essence of their 
 identity. Teaming up with LA Producer/Engineer Jason Soda at Palomino Soun
 d\, The Great North Special captured the raw energy of their live performa
 nces while exploring new sonic territories. The album\, recorded predomina
 ntly live in the studio\, showcases the band's versatility and songwriting
  aptitude\, with each track offering a distinct musical narrative to accom
 pany lyrical themes such as joy\, love\, nature\, community\, technology\,
  spirituality\, mental health\, existentialism and pure celebration. Along
  with the album release\, the band collaborated with musician/filmmaker Ma
 tt Costa to create a series of music videos\, providing visual insight int
 o their artistic vision. With "Callithump Parade\," The Great North Specia
 l invites listeners on a sonic journey through the heart and soul of their
  musical universe\, promising an unforgettable experience for music lovers
